It’s National Apprenticeships Week this week (8th-14th February), a celebration of both businesses offering Apprenticeships, and Apprentices, across the country.
Chartway Group is delighted to have offered Apprenticeships to a number of young people in a variety of disciplines, both office and site based.
We are currently supporting Apprentices in Construction Contracting, Quantity Surveying, Engineering and Business Administration.
Let’s put the spotlight on two of our Apprentices:
Abi joined Chartway Group in July 2019, recently completing her Apprenticeship in Business Administration Level 2. She has just started a further Apprenticeship as a Quantity Surveying Technician currently studying at Level 4. ‘There are so many opportunities at Chartway Group. I enjoyed my first Apprenticeship so much, the training is great, and my colleagues are so helpful and friendly. I’ve been given a second Apprenticeship which will help me with my career and develop my work and social skills even further,’ she said.
Working on our Castle Hill, Ebbsfleet site, Solomon is studying Level 3 Construction Contracting Operations and is working alongside his Site Manager and the wider Chartway construction team. Solomon told us ‘I started my Apprenticeship 2 years ago, and I am hoping to complete it in the summer, then my aim is to continue to Level 4 with Chartway Group. There’s never a dull day on the construction site, I am learning so much, and there’s always someone to ask about something if I’m unsure; talking to my site colleagues is great. They are so willing to share their skills and knowledge with me’.
Ian Savage, CEO, says ‘The construction industry relies on young people coming through the ranks. They are the next generation, bringing new ideas, enthusiasm and commitment. Our Apprentices have the support of a team of designated mentors, offering support, advice and encouragement. We are committed to continuing to offer Apprenticeships and look forward to celebrating their successes with them as they achieve their individual goals ‘.
