Chartway Construction, part of the leading South East England house builder Chartway Partnerships Group, is delighted to announce its latest project appointment in partnership with Maidstone Borough Council.
Through a competitive process, Chartway Construction has been selected by Maidstone Borough Council to deliver the construction works for the redevelopment of the Heather House and Pavilion Building sites in Maidstone. This exciting project is set to regenerate the sites adjacent to Parkwood, bringing a new sense of place to the heart of the community.
The centrepiece of this project will be a brand-new Community Centre, complete with parking, designed to cater to the diverse needs of the local residents. Additionally, the project will see the construction of 11 new homes, further addressing the demand for housing in the area.
The 11 homes will comprise of a mix of three and four-bedroom houses. Four of which will fall under the “First Homes” affordable housing category, available for purchase at an astounding 30% discount below market rates.
Heather House, constructed in 1972, primarily using concrete, and suffering now from disrepair and obsolescence , is set for a remarkable transformation. Chartway Construction is leading the construction of the new Community Centre and homes, along with the necessary external infrastructure enhancements.
Cllr Lottie Parfitt-Reid, Cabinet Member for Housing and Health at Maidstone Borough Council said: “This project will significantly improve the Parkwood area and will provide wonderful new community facilities that will benefit everyone in the local community. We are pleased to be working with Chartway on this project to help regenerate this area of Parkwood.”

Construction activities have already commenced with the demolition due to start in December and the project scheduled to complete May 2025.
